Fameye sends strong warning to his lookalike

Ghanaian musician Fameye has sent a strong warning to Theophilus Fameye Ademola, a student nurse student nurse who looks exactly as him not to engage in any commercial activity using his brand.

The award winning musician Peter Fameye Bozah known famously by Ghanaians as Fameye in responding to a questioned by Miss Gee, host of United Showbiz, said there was nothing wrong with someone resembling another but his problem is with the fact that these lookalikes are being given attention by the Media; and as a result, have started taking advantage to engage in commercial activities, playing shows etc under the guise of the main artistes’ brand.

He condemned the act and called on his lookalike, never to attempt any thing of that nature, adding that he will have a problem with him should anything like that happens.

Fameye however, commended Theophilus Fameye Ademola, for promoting his songs on his social media pages and expressed his gratitude for the gesture.

Theophilus Fameye Ademola,, a student at St Andrews College of Health Care at Assin Foso in the Central region surfaced on the internet a few weeks ago and has since been making waves with his striking resemblance to the singer.

Theophilus Fameye Ademola, has also joined a group of lookalikes that has taken social media by storm. Videos of Kuami Eugene, Medikal, King Promise and Mr Drew’s lookalike were spotted as they initiated the new member of the group, Fameye’s lookalike. The group members, whose numbers seem to be increasing as the days go by, have revealed that they will be doing this as a full-time job.

Fameye’s lookalike does not only have his looks but his voice as he freestyles his idol’s song in the video and surprises fans.

Theophilus Fameye Ademola is a native of Tarkwa, but currently a resident of Tafo, in Kumasi.

Theophilus says his intention is to focus on pursuing his nursing education as well as a planning a career in music.

Theophilus has a close friend who also looks similar with Bill Asamoah, the Kumawood President and actor called Johnson Budu.

Johnson Budu is a native of Assin Foso and a business man by occupation.

Speaking on the issue, renowned Lawyer Samson Lardi ESQ, advised the growing number of lookalikes to avoid doing business or engaging in commercial activities under the brand names of the main artistes without official permission since that will amount to criminality.

Lawyer Sampson Lardi, who was speaking on phone said section 131 of Ghana’s Criminal Codes states that whoever defrauds any person by any false pretence shall be guilty of a second degree felony. He went on to say that one could face up to ten years inprisonment as punishment for being found guilty of the crime.

He also called on the main artistes to seek legal redress by either pursuing the Criminal process or instituting civil action through the law courts.

Other members on the show including ace actor, Fred Amugi, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, Kwamena MP and APuz called on the various celebrity Lookalikes to desist from impersonating the main Artistes and rather focus on developing their own strengths in showbiz in order to have a lasting and viable career.
