Sammy Gyamfi,- National Communications Officer, NDC

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has secured a court order to confiscate the mobile phone of opposition National Democratic Congress National Communication Officer Sammy Gyamfi.

The CID sent out an invitation to him over alleged cybercrime details of which are yet to be fully clarified. It has however been revealed that an official at the seat of government Jubilee House lodged the complaint against him.

The official involved is alleged to be Nana Asante Bediatuo, whose mother, father, and sister’s pictures Sammy Gyamfi circulated months ago as part of the NDC’s exposé of cronyism under the Akufo-Addo government.

The real reason however is believed to be the circulation of a letter allegedly authored by Nana Asante Bediatuo on Osafo Maafo’s Kroll Associates “dubious” contract. Mr. Bediatuo is convinced the said fake letter emanated from the opposition firebrand communicator.

The confiscation of Sammy Gyamfi’s phone is likely to be interpreted as political witch-hunting using state security apparatus as Sammy Gyamfi has been a thorn in the flesh of government communication on the  as no communicator on the government side is able to match him on TV or radio.

Already the NDC national chairman is on trial over a leaked tape.
