Introducing World Hearing Day 2026: Hearing care for every child- webinar

Background
The World Health Organization (WHO) and partners worldwide are preparing for the annual global campaign, World Hearing Day (WHD) 2026. Observed on 3 March each year, World Hearing Day raises awareness about hearing-related issues and highlights hearing care as a global public health priority.

With the theme “From communities to classrooms: hearing care for every child,” the 2026 campaign emphasizes two key priorities:

  • Preventing avoidable childhood hearing loss
  • Ensuring early identification and appropriate care for children with ear and hearing problems

Each year, stakeholders across the globe organize activities to promote ear and hearing care in alignment with the campaign theme. As part of these efforts, WHO and members of the World Hearing Forum (WHF) facilitate systems to systematically capture and showcase activities conducted worldwide.

To introduce the 2026 theme and launch the campaign materials, WHO is organizing a webinar with the objective to introduce the:

1. WHD 2026 theme and rational
2. Campaign materials for WHD 2026
3. New system to register events
4. Small grants for observing WHD activities, and
5. Discuss activities and actions planned for WHD 2025.

This session aims to brief stakeholders on the campaign framework and available campaign materials and advocacy tools, while encouraging early planning and participation in the global movement.
