The MMG Foundation is proud to announce that our MMGF MARCUS GARVEY DAY FUNDRAISING GALA 2025 will take place at the very beautiful, tranquil, scenic, picturesque and historic DR KWAME NKRUMAH MEMEORIAL PARK in Accra, Ghana.
The event will take place on Saturday 16 August 2025, starting at 12’noon. We will be celebrating the one hundred and thirty eighth anniversary of the birth of The Rt. Excellent Marcus Mosiah Garvey, First National Hero of Jamaica, Founder of the UNIA and one of the Fathers of Pan Africanism. We will also be Raising funds to support MMG Foundation’s Vocational Training Program for African Youths.
We will have an exhibition and displays of businesses and companies that specialize in the areas in which we train our students. So, we will have representatives who specialize in Solar Power Equipment, CCTV installation, Domestic Electrical Wiring, Carpentry and Masonry.
Marcus Garvey was a Jamaican-born Black nationalist and leader of the Pan-Africanism movement. He advocated for the unification and liberation of people of African descent worldwide, promoting self-reliance, racial pride, and the “Back to Africa” movement.
We will also be launching the Marcus Mosiah Garvey Whirlwind Limited (MMGW LTD) which is the business arm of MMG Foundation. MMGW LTD will act as Contractors and Employment Agents for the students that we train.
Garvey was known as the founder of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA). Formed in Jamaica in July 1914, the UNIA aimed to achieve Black nationalism through the celebration of African history and culture.
The Gala will feature a three course Caribbean Meal, Live Music, Cultural Performances, Speakers, African-Caribbean Art and Artifacts, Fund Raising Auctions, Lottery. Bingo etc. There will also be activities for the children.
