
The family, music community in Ghana and fans are getting ready to say goodbye to highlife legend Dada KD, whose state funeral will take place on August 16, 2025, at the State House in Accra.

Dada KD, whose real name was Dada Kweku Duah, was born in Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region. He passed away on May 17 after a short illness, leaving behind a lasting impact on Ghanaian music. He was the third of five children.
The date for his funeral was announced during a one-week memorial service held at the East Legon Executive Club. Family, friends, and fellow musicians like Kojo Antwi, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah and other celebrities came together to celebrate his life.
The Highlife musician will be buried in his hometown of Agona Asangman in the Ashanti Region. A thanksgiving service is planned for Sunday, August 17, where loved ones can reflect on his contributions to highlife music.
The family has asked attendees to wear black and white clothing to honor his memory.
