The Ledzokuku Constituency Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has inaugurated a Youth Working Committee as part of preparations ahead of the 2024 December 7th general elections.

The move is expected to enable the party to strengthen its efforts at reaching out to every voter within the constituency in a bid to propagate the NDC’s message so they can make a well-informed decision on December 7th, by voting for a change in government.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Benita Sena Okity-Duah, Former Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku and former Deputy Minister for Fisheries who was the guest of honour called on all members within the rank and file of the party in the Ledzokuku constituency to jump on board to make a second victory for the NDC a dream come true.

Hon. Okitty-Duah urged members of the Youth Working Committee to work very hard to secure victory for John Mahama as President and Benjamin Ayiku Narteh as Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku.

She emphasized the need for unity within the party’s membership base in the constituency. She reiterated that the parliamentary seat in Ledzokuku belongs to the NDC, and the NPP only wins when there is devision among members.

She advised the constituents to avoid the practice of “skirt and blouse” voting, stressing the importance of ensuring that John Dramani Mahama has a majority in parliament to execute his mandate effectively.

  • She also explained the vision of John Dramani Mahama, particularly the establishment of the National Women’s Bank. According to her, the initiative would benefit several women across the country.

She donated GHC 2,000.00 to facilitate the activities of the Youth Working Committee, and further promised an additional GHC 2,000.00 to be provided every month in five batches totaling GH 10,000.00.

Hon. Benita Sena Okity-Duah concluded her speech by encouraging all well-meaning Ghanaians and constituents of Ledzokuku to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in its campaign and also work together towards the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
