Worgbato Za: We are recognised by National House of Chiefs – Torgbi Xenodzi Dogbey II

The Dufia of Worgbato in the Klikor Traditional Area, Torgbi Xenodzi Dogbey II has stated categorically that he is a legitimate Chief duly registered and recognised by the National House of Chiefs as a divisional chief of Klikor.

He said this in an interview with Sellassie K.A. Sokpe of betterghanadigest.com, regarding preparations for the 2024 edition of the Worgbato Za, a festival celebrated by the people of Worgbato in the Ketu South District, Volta Region.

Formerly referred to as Segbene Furguson, was enstooled as Torgbi Xenodzi Dogbey II, Dufia of Worgbato in the Klikor Traditional Area on the 4th of January 2020 and subsequently given approval by the National House of Chiefs on the 21st of December 2023.

According to him, the festival which is scheduled for the 21st of December, 2024 is expected to attract a lot of dignitaries including respected Traditional Leaders and politicians from all divides as well as well as business magnates, and will feature a lot of traditional and entertainment activities designed to make the festival a memorable one.

He called on the indigenes of Worgbato and its neighbouring communities across Ghana to see this as homecoming and therefore come home.

He also called on relatives and friends of the people of Worgbato, from across Ghana and abroad to seize the opportunity to visit the town and discover many more exciting things about the rich culture and tradition of the royals of Worgbato and Klikor in general.

Worgbato-Klikor is a town in Ketu South Municipality in the Volta Region of southeastern Ghana.  The Klikor township is near Agbozume and is known for the Klikor Senior High Technical School.
