The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has indicated that ensuring the party is governed based on principle and equity is far more important than winning any particular constituency in an election.
Speaking in an interview on an Accra-based radio station, he said according to the recommendation in the Doe Adjaho Committee report, because of the division within the constituency, the National Head Quarters must take over the process and therefore that is what is being done.
“The candidate in the number two position will move to number 1 and the number 3 will move to number two and then the delegates will decide on one of them. The winner will then become our candidate.”

Mr. Johnson Aiedu Nketiah therefore, called on Mr. Michael Nii Yarboi Annan and his supporters to abide by the rules of the party if they truly love the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He urged all party supporters to support whoever emerges as the winner and for that matter Parliamentary Candidate for the Odododiodio Constituency, so they can win the seat for the NDC, adding that after NDC has won the elections, there will be more opportunities for all.
He stressed that Mr. Nii Yarboi is a registered member of the party; therefore, if he is qualified for any position, the party will ensure that he is given his due.
Irrespective of the fact that his background may be from NPP, as long as you are qualified to benefit from anything, no one will prevent it without having any legal basis.
Responding to those who are suggesting that they should let the delegates decide, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah said the delegates can only decide after the aspirant(s) have been permitted, in accordance with the constitution of the party to appear before the delegates and not those who are not qualified.
“There must be a hurdle to clear” before going to present yourself before the delegates to decide”. He insisted
He added that if you don’t clear that hurdle, you will not be given any opportunity to be presented before delegates to take a decision on you.

According to General Mosquito, that is the law, and it is the same law that was applied before he became the general secretary and now Chairman. It is the same law that enabled Former President John Dramani Mahama to become the flag bearer.
He said it is not possible for the law that has been used to elect the flag bearer and other parliamentary candidates to be changed in favour of any individual or group since that will affect the legitimacy of all those who have been elected in accordance with that same law.
