Carpenter & his mother cry for help to save his rotting leg

Delali Asem is a native of Hohoe and a carpenter working with Alex Tata & Co located on the Spintex road around Texpo Market.

On the 8th of January, 2026, his master sent him to go and fix a door frame for a client at Vivian Farm about 2pm.

On his way, he was nocked down by a motor cycle whilst he was crossing the road at the Viviam Farm bus stop. Because he could not get up, another car also passed over his leg braking the bones in his left foot.

He was rushed to the Sakumono Community Hospital by eyewitnesses and later transferred to Tema General Hospital, where doctors managed to treat him and discharged him on the 10th of January. The case has since been reported to the Vivian Farm Police station.

According to him, since he was discharged from the hospital, his master Mr. Alex Agordzo has neglected him. He asked him not to come to the shop again and whenever he calls him on phone to ask for any assistance he says he doesn’t have money.

Delali says apart from the pains he is feeling due to the absence of medications, he is afraid of serious complications because he can’t afford the GC200.00 required to go for dressing of the wound every three days. “In fact, I am suffering, even common food to eat, I have to depend some on friends and neighbours to give me gc5.00 and sometimes GC20.00 before I can feed myself.” He lamented.

At the time of talking with Delali, the stench from the wound was very unbearable. He explained that because he is not able to go for his routine dressing sessions as required, sometimes he changes the bandage himself, after removing maggots from the rotten wound.

Speaking on phone with Delali’s mother, Madam Grace Agbley who is also sick and undergoing treatment in the Volta Region.  She told betterghanadigest.com that she sent Delali’s junior sister Blessing to Accra. When she came to Accra, Delali’s master Alex refused to meet her because he said he was in church. All efforts to reach him after church also proved futile.

Madam Grace also added that Mr. Alex said he did not care about whatever the family will do because her son was drunk when he sent him and that is why he was nocked down by the motor cycle.

Delali’s mother is appealing to the general public to come to her son’s aid since she is not working and has also been sick for the past four years.

Let’s help Delali out of his predicament please! Kindly contact him on 0594943352 or his mother, Madam Grace on 053 2795362.
