The 2025 Hogbetsotso Festival of the Anlo people has been launched at Ohawu in the Volta Region under the theme “Building bridges – From common history to common destiny.” The celebration will climax with a grand durbar at Anloga on November 1, featuring children’s durbars, a unity concert, the Mama Hogbe Pageant, and the re-enactment of the historic Glimetoto migration.
Awadada Togbi Agbesi Awusu II called on the government to upgrade Ohawu Agricultural College into a university to boost innovation, food security, and youth employment. Volta Regional Minister James Gunu urged unity among traditional authorities to end chieftaincy disputes and attract investment for development.
