The Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) is proud to present GNAPS Week 2025, a dynamic and multifaceted event that will be celebrated across the country from February 17th to March 8th, 2025. This year’s theme, “Artificial Intelligence: A Tool for Driving Education in the 21st Century,” reflects the association’s commitment to preparing schools and students for the future.
In an exclusive interview, Dr. Asiha Asi Akrofi, Regional Chairperson of GNAPS, shared her vision for this year’s event and the role it will play in transforming private education in Ghana.
Explaining the inspiration behind the theme, Dr. Akrofi, Regional Chairperson of GNAPS, said, “We chose this theme because we believe artificial intelligence (AI) has the power to revolutionize the way we educate our children. AI can enhance teaching, personalize learning, and prepare students for a world where technology plays a central role. GNAPS Week is the perfect platform to explore these opportunities and show our commitment to educational innovation.”

GNAPS Week 2025 promises a variety of exciting activities for students, teachers, and school proprietors. The week will kick off with a route march on February 17th, followed by a community clean-up campaign and donations to local hospitals, police stations, and orphanages on February 18th. These events are aimed at instilling a sense of civic responsibility and compassion in students.

One of the most anticipated events is the Interzonal Football Competition and Fun Games, which will take place on February 20th and 21st at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Boys and girls from private schools across various regions will compete in friendly football matches, with additional activities including rap competitions, dancing, art, choreography, bouncy castles, and face painting.

“The sports and fun games are about more than just competition,” Dr. Akrofi noted. “They encourage teamwork, discipline, and creativity, all of which are essential qualities for our students’ holistic development.”

A key focus of GNAPS Week is equipping school proprietors with the tools to embrace AI and other technologies in their institutions. On February 19th, GNAPS will host a seminar for school proprietors, where experts will share practical insights on how AI can be integrated into the classroom to enhance learning outcomes.

Dr. Akrofi emphasized the importance of this seminar, saying, “AI is not something to fear; it’s a tool that can empower teachers to offer personalized education and engage students in new ways. We want our school leaders to feel confident about adopting these innovations.”

Dr. Akrofi shared her long-term vision for GNAPS, stating, “Our goal is to ensure that private schools in Ghana stay competitive by adopting modern educational practices. We want our students to be future-ready, and that requires embracing technology, improving teaching methodologies, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning.”
As GNAPS Week 2025 approaches, Dr. Akrofi encouraged all schools, students, and parents to get involved and take full advantage of the opportunities the week offers.
“GNAPS Week is not just a celebration; it’s an opportunity for growth and transformation. Let’s come together to embrace the future of education,” she concluded.
GNAPS Week 2025 will run from February 17th to March 8th. Be part of the exciting events, from football competitions and fun games to educational seminars and community outreach. Whether you’re a student, educator, or school proprietor, there’s something for everyone
