The Caucus For Mature Democrats (CMD), a Civil Society Organisation focused on principles of democracy, good governance, probity, accountability, social justice, and equality is highly disappointed in President Akufo Addo for not providing highlights on his modalities put in place for Ghana’s economic recovery and growth.
In our honest view, his insensitivity, reckless borrowing, reckless spending, oversized government, opulence, mismanagement, and waste of $20,000 per hour on luxury foreign private jets and waste of funds on the needless cathedral with the little left of a collapsed economy led to unsustainable domestic and foreign debt levels contributed immensely to the collapse of the economy and central bank of Ghana. So the president is culpable and can never run away from being responsible.
We highly expected him to talk about what contributed to his failure to release to the local government architecture what is due to them, to enable them to engage in development at the local assembly level in line with the constitutional provisions of our beloved country.
We expected him to talk about one ball of kenkey which rose from Ghc1 to Ghc5 under his reign which is the true state of the nation.
We expected him to talk about the price of a bowl of corn or maize which rose from Ghc2 to Ghc20 under his rule. That is the true state of the nation.
We expected him to talk about the price of roasted full chicken which rose from Ghc20 to over Ghc100 today in his government which shortchanged Ghanaians with huge budget approval from parliament for planting for food and jobs annually. That is the true state of the nation today, just to mention a few.
What is most annoying in our opinion is how politicians of the fourth republic today, lie to Ghanaians who delegated our powers for them to act on our behalf and in our interest, lie to Ghanaians with arrogance, as if Ghanaians outside npp don’t have brains to think. They also jock with their failures even in parliament as if our democracy and constitutional provisions are all joke to the npp government.
They joke with constitutional violations and breaches of serious laws like probity and accountability is needless in our democracy. To the Caucus and many serious Ghanaians, that is very annoying and the Caucus condemns in no uncertain terms such irresponsible behaviour of some of our politicians under President Akufo Addo.
Prior to this empty SONA today, permit me to digress a little bit to talk about a political stooge called Koku Anyidoho, an Ewe on Twitter yesterday lambasted the visionary and nation builder JM for building an AIRPORT for the people of Volta Region, when in his view he thinks they need roads instead.
Can you imagine such an ungrateful human beast not demanding President Akufo Addo with less than one year left to exhaust 8 solid years and, who authorised the spillage of the Akosombo dam that displaced many people of Volta region as a matter of urgency, to provide people of the region with roads instead of the person who saw the need to open VOLTA region up to air travel and air business first?
Again instead of Koku asking President Akufo Addo why he said what he said to the people of Mepe, after the Akosombo dam’s unfortunate unannounced spillage, he is on Twitter spewing garbage.
On behalf of the people of Mepe, the Caucus demands that President Akufo Addo to explain to Ghanaians whether he is the President of Ghana or the President of NPP people in Ghana?
Again we challenge President Akufo Addo on behalf of the people of Mepe to go and have a second look at the presidential oath whether he swore, whether he swore the oath to protect and to do justice to his NPP members or all manner of people of Ghana?
We therefore caution President Akufo Addo to revise the way he talks in public as a president and stop talking as if he swore the presidential oath to protect ONLY NPP people instead of protecting all Ghanaians.
I didn’t joke with Koku at all. I told him he urgently needs a medical board assessment just like Chairman General Johnson Asiedu Nketiah opined that, a medical board be constituted to assess President Akufo Addo to determine whether or not, he can continue as president of the Republic of Ghana. His public pronouncements some of which were very prejudicial and others contemptuous, made honourable Johnson Asiedu Nketiah to suggest the medical board assessment.
Indeed Koku needs urgent psychiatric evaluation to be conducted on him to assess the functionality or otherwise of his brain if truth be told.
Now back to the actual business. Look at the mother serpent of corruption, Akufo Addo, look into the TV camera and telling Ghanaians now that, he is taking responsibility for everything as the president for the failures of his government without even an apology to Ghanaians after stealing, looting and wasting our $20,000 per hour on foreign luxury private jets to collapse our economy and the central bank of Ghana. Can you imagine that?
Promising Ghanaians free, fair and transparent election 2024 after looking on unconcerned for his security forces to deliberately shoot and kill 8 innocent citizens just for power in election 2020?
Do you remember him telling Ghanaians in our faces not too long ago that, he will hand over power to only the next npp government as if he is the electoral commissioner?
It is the view of Caucus For Mature Democrats that, if even President Akufo Addo is made the electoral commissioner of election 2024, he has no verdict than the true and supreme will of the people of Ghana. We therefore once again condemn such reckless statements of President Akufo Addo in no uncertain terms as such reckless pronouncements has the tendency to cause irreparable damage to our peace and democracy.
Have you heard him make mention of that needless shooting and killing of the 8 innocent citizens? NO
Did he talk about what he did to collapse the economy and central bank of Ghana and providing measures he think will help Ghana recover from the economic mess he and his cousin, dishonourable Ken Ofori Atta created? NO. What an annoying end-of-term empty SONA!!!
The NPP must be understood by all Ghanaians as the criminals and thieves who stole, mismanaged, wasted and looted to collapse the economy and central bank of Ghana and must be rejected outright never to be allowed anywhere near the presidency until after 150 years after election 2024.
The prayer of the Caucus is that may Allah uphold the humble and sincere prayer of Ghanaians to outrightly reject NPP who looted to collapse the economy for the sake of the tax-paying Ghanaians whose pockets suffer for the opulence and waste of the mother serpent of corruption, Akufo Addo.
The Caucus in conclusion urges patriotic citizens to support the 24-hour economic policy concept of the national development giant, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the great NDC to build the Ghana We Want Together.
This can only be easy when Ghanaians vote massively for JM AND NDC. That is the best way even when Akufo Addo is the electoral commissioner, he would be forced with such unpleasant duty to pronounce JM and NDC the winner of the election 2024 for the commencement of probity and accountability to kick-start.
Then all sea, land and air borders will be closed with immediate effect, diplomatic and other travel passports of government officials ceased immediately until thorough investigations exhausted and ill-gotten wealth confiscated to the state and culpable among them jailed to deter others of their likes.
