
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reshuffled his ministers and deputies with immediate effect.
This was announced in a statement released on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has relieved the following
Ministers and Deputy Ministers of their portfolios in Government, with immediate effect,” Eugene Arhin
Director of Communications, Office of the President said in the statement he signed.
9 ministers and 8 deputy ministers were affected in this major shake-up. 4 other ministers and two deputy ministers were however reassigned to different portfolios.
While Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Information Minister, has been reassigned to the Works and Housing, Francis Asenso Boakye, Works and Housing Minister has been moved to the Roads and Highways Ministry.
Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, was also moved to the Office of the President as a Minister of State.
Deputy Information Minister, Ms. Fatimatu Abubakar, was elevated and is now the minister-designate for the Ministry of Information.
Deputy Minister of Energy, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, has also been elevated to the position of Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministrer-designate.
