We categorically reject the misguided and politically motivated statement issued by a faceless entity calling itself Young Northerners Forum regarding the remarks made by the indefatigable Hon. Fifi Kwetey.
It is evident that this group is merely a puppet organization, doing the bidding of the inept, insensitive, and incompetent NPP government spearheaded by their discredited leader Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The claim that Hon. Fifi Kwetey’s comments were tribal in nature is just a feeble attempt to deflect attention from the real issues at hand. Hon. Fifi Kwetey remarked that northerners are known for telling the truth. They are not noted for deliberately lying and making false promises.
However, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has over the last 7 plus years, done the very opposite of what Northerners are noted for: truthfulness and candor.
Apart from his empty rhetoric of being an economic superstar capable of stopping the depreciation of the cedi, changing the economy from taxation to production, and having worked at the Central Bank and knowing where the money was to transform Ghana, he also uttered notable lies and and empty promises which include but not limited to:
- No village or community in Ghana will have water or toilet problems within the first 18 months of being elected
- Construction of 16 model schools for Zongo communities in all the 16 Regions (in the presence of His eminence, the National Chief Iman)
- Construction of 1V1D in every village in Ghana to help in all-year-round farming
- The equivalent of 1 million Dollars per year for each of the 275 constituencies
- Going to Hajj is now Ghc75,000. It was Ghc11,900 in 2016 before the exit of HE John Mahama, contrary to what he told the Muslim Umma ahead of the 2016 elections.
Unlike H.E John Mahama who has been a shining star and held the forte for Northerners as an ambassador of truth, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has not been a good ambassador for the North at all.
It is therefore ludicrous to suggest that criticism of an individual’s political conduct equates or is tantamount to tribalism. The desperate attempt by this faceless group to play the victim card and silence dissenting voices is disingenuous, pathetic, and condemnable by all standards.
Further, the demand for an unconditional apology from Hon. Fifi Kwetey smacks of hypocrisy and double standards. Where was this self-righteous indignation when inflammatory remarks and lies were made by no other person than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia?
The selective outrage displayed by this pseudo Forum exposes their blatant and unacceptable partisan agenda.
We hereby demand an unconditional apology from this pseudo-Forum.
Additionally the insinuation that Hon. Fifi Kwetey’s comments undermine unity and collaboration is laughable and dismissible. It is the divisive tactics employed by entities like the so-called Young Northerners Forum that sow seeds of discord and hinder genuine progress and discourses.
Instead of engaging in meaningful dialogue, they resort to cheap political theatrics and unacceptable propaganda.
Moreover, it is particularly ironic for this puppet organization to come to the defense of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, considering his track record of lies, deceit and misinformation.
It’s a notorious and undeniable fact that, the man has repeatedly misled the Ghanaian public with false claims and exaggerated promises.
Besides, what was their stance when Bawumia called and tagged JM with the word “incompetent”?
Wasn’t it insulting enough to catch their hypocritical attention to seek apology from the GOOGLE CERTIFIED LIAR, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia?
In conclusion, we will not be bullied into silence by self-appointed guardians of political correctness. The people of Ghana deserve better than the petty politicking and character assassination orchestrated by the likes of this so-called Young Northerners Forum.
We stand firm in our commitment to free speech, robust debate, and holding our leaders accountable.
