Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed skepticism about the vision statement presented by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr. Gyamfi has described the statement as untrustworthy, mirroring his views on the Vice President himself.
Among other things in his vision statement presented in Accra on Wednesday, Dr. Bawumia outlined plans to abolish the E-levy, emissions tax, VAT on electricity, and betting tax. He also proposed a reduction in the number of ministers.
However, these promises have been met with doubt by Gyamfi, who questions their feasibility and sincerity.
Mr. Gyamfi told Umaru Sanda Amadu on Eyewitness News on Thursday that Dr. Bawumia’s vision statement was “Just a compilation of lies, empty promises, and ridiculous excuses.”
“The credibility of the messenger is as important as the credibility of the message… Trust is based on integrity. If I can’t trust you, I cannot believe anything you tell me. Bawumia now is [opposite] of what we call credibility.”
