The battle for the Dome-Kwabenya Parliamentary Seat is reported to be one of the most keenly contested races as two seasoned lawyers work to unseat the famous sitting MP for the area, in the person of Lawyer Sara Adwoa Safo.

Interactions with some of the delegates on condition of anonymity ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), primaries on Saturday, January 27, disclosed that the race is between the incumbent and Lawyer Mike Quaye Junior, but others also said the race is between Lawyer Mike Quaye and Lawyer Sheela Oppong Sakyi because Lawyer Sara Adwoa Safo is just a “Tik tok MP” who has “abandoned us for a year”.

According to her, “I know that everything that happened in the past one year or one-and-a-half years, you have forgiven me because to err is human and to forgive is divine.”

These apologies went viral, but some of these delegates will not fall for them since they have made up their minds to follow what has become the’showdown’ principle in our political discourse nowadays.

On this Saturday, January 27, 2024, about 1,824 delegates from 124 polling stations will be congregating at Atomic Park to elect only one of the three (3) aspirants.

Dome-Kwabenya is one of the most populous constituencies in the National Capital, with a voter population of about 180,000. It is noted to be a stronghold of the NPP.
