
Africa Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) staged a pillow fight on Saturday, the 13th of January 2024, as part of the Freshers Akwaaba Week.
Over 800 spectators including non-residents of Africa hall stood on their feet for several hours to watch the thrilling skills of these “freshers” selected from the 16 sixteen floors in the hall, as they battle each other for the Gold and silver medals on knockout bases.

Ultimately, the 8th floor won 2 Straight against the 7th floor and was crowned champions in the men’s division.

In the end, Stephen Andoh from the 8th floor and Ohene Kwaku Bekoe qualified for the next stage in the men’s division.

In the Ladies’ division, Ama Yeboah Agyei of the 4th floor and Betty Sam of the 2nd floor also qualified for the next stage which will come off on 16th March 2024.

The Africa Hall mistress Professor Dr. Linda Aurelia Akua Anamoaba Ofori(MRS) thanked God and the organisers as well as the Hall members for ensuring that the event was a success, adding that it was an interesting experience they will have again.
In a short interview after the games, Mr. Appiah Reuben Emmanuel – USAG International Relations Secretary said he had really enjoyed it and would love to experience it again since it was his first time.

The Ghana pillow fight Association was led by Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, President and founder.

Presentation of Awards to the various winners was done by the President Ghana Tug of war Association (Mr. Emmanuel Ola Williams) and the President Africa Hall – KNUST (Miss Frimpong Rhoda Abrafi)

Also present was Professor Dr. Linda Aurelia Aku Anomoaba Ofori (Mrs), Special Guest of Honor.

Other invited guests namely, Mr. Appiah Reuben Emmanuel – USAG International Relations Secretary and Mr. Woode Daniel Ocansey, former Vice Chancellor, KNUST.
