Mamelodi Sundowns have won the Women’s African Champions League for the second time.
After watching their men’s side clinch the integral African Football League trophy a few weeks ago, the Mamelodi Sundowns women’s team achieved the same milestone by winning the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League trophy after beating Sporting Club Cassablanca of Morocco 3-0 in the grand finale.
Refilwe Tholakle netted a brace, first from the penalty spot and from open play, before Boitumelo Rabale caned up big with a goal.
This is a significant achievement for the Sundowns franchise. They have both their men and women football teams dominating African football.
