The 2023 TWIF World Outdoor Championships is expected to come off in Sursee, Switzerland from the 31st of August to the 3rd of September.
The event will bring together participants from various countries across the world to compete on the global platform for the ultimate World Title Belt.
South Africa AND Zimbabwe will be sending Women’s teams to represent Africa at the World Championships in Switzerland.
The Junior World Championships are co-hosted with the Senior World Championships and South Africa will be sending a full complement of U/23 and Schools teams to participate in this Championships as well”.
The TWIF is committed to developing and developing the sport in Africa by partnering with Associations to create opportunities for people to participate in the sport.
According to the Federation, TWIF’s job is the creation of opportunities with particular focus currently on U-23. In this regard, TWIF has budgeted for a Continental U-23 Championships.
The TWIF’s seeks to provide the structure and good governance necessary for the well-being and development of the sport of Tug of War throughout the world. Our Primary Objective is to attain a sufficiently high level of excellence and universality to expedite our acceptance by the International Olympic Committee as a sport within the programme of the Olympic Games, a status held by our sport in the early years of the 20th century.
