A 50-year-old farmer identified as Seth has been arrested for allegedly killing his 42-year-old wife, Victoria at Apla, a rural community in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.

This incident happened in the early hours of Thursday.

According to residents, Seth, after the alleged murder, told a few people in the area that a side wall of their building collapsed during the night, killing his wife.

Information gathered indicated that Seth after the alleged act, attempted to clean the blood on the ground, using a bedspread and some shirts.

The Police were informed and reported to the scene for further investigations.

Upon searching the scene, the  Police saw the said clothes in the bush, with weed in a shirt belonging to Seth.

It was also reported that Seth restated on their way from the hospital that the wife died as a result of a misunderstanding and struggle between them after he earlier said the deceased passed on as a result of excessive alcohol intake the previous day.

While the deceased is currently in the morgue at the St. Martins De Porres Hospital at Agormanya, pending autopsy, the suspect, Seth is in Police custody with investigations.
