A Kia Rhino with registration number GW 5398-28 has crashed into a Toyota Hilux with registration number GV 86-16 at Sehwi Amoaya in the Bodi district of the Western North region injuring six people.
The Kia Rhino which was carrying plantain suckers was coming from Dadieso, and upon climbing a hill at Sehwi Amoaya rolled back and crashed into a stationary Toyota Hilux vehicle which belongs to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) parked by the roadside.
According to a Unit Committee Chairman of the Amoaya community, Sayedi Abdulla, 6 people who were on the Kia Rhino were injured and rushed to the Amoaya Clinic while the other whose injury was severe was referred to the Juaboso Government hospital for further treatment.
In the same vein, an overspeeding Sprinter bus with registration number AC 7700-23 killed a 20-year-old motor rider at Jukwa Mbem in the Twifo-Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region, yesterday Monday, June 5.
Information gathered revealed that the speeding Sprinter bus was coming from Cape Coast and heading towards Twifu Praso.
On reaching Jukwa Mbem, the driver switched on the high light, which momentarily blinded the rider, and as he could not see the road, he veered off from his lane into that of the Sprinter bus, which ran over him, killing him instantly.
However, the passenger on the Okada survived the crash but was severely injured and is battling for his life at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Jukwa Government Hospital mortuary.
The Sprinter bus driver has been arrested and assisting with investigations at the Jukwa Police Station.
