The Bono East Region is one of the two new regions carved out of the Brong Ahafo Region. The Brong-Ahafo Region was split into three regions following the December 2018 referendum.
The NDC won 8 seats out of the 11 constituencies during the general elections in December 2020.

- Techiman North – Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare
- Nkoranza South – Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum
- Nkoranza North – Joseph Kwasi Mensah
- Kintampo North – Joseph Kwame Kumah
- Atebubu/Amantin – Sanja Nanja
- Pru East – Kwabena Donkor
