Three people died and nine others sustained injuries in a gory accident involving a tricycle and Kia vehicle at Adukrom water-ways junction in Okere district of Eastern Region.
The accident occurred yesterday, around 7am in the morning. According to an eyewitness, the tricycle which was loaded with land pillars was descending from Adukrom heading towards Somanya collided with the Kia vehicle with registration number GE 7984 which was coming from Somanya.
The Assembly Member for Adukrom-Methodist electoral area, Ebenezer Obiri Asare, who was also an eyewitness disclosed that the accident involved 12 people.
Five of the victims were in the tricycle and the other seven in the Kia car.
Nine of the people sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial hospital while the dead bodies were deposited at the morgue.
Officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, the Police Service and some civilians were at the scene to help retrieve the bodies.
