It took the strength of a Journalist seek after his interest after he previously caught wind of something practically mind blowing in 2017, and which has now been laid out as a flourishing sperm reaping industry in the country.
The TV3 journalist investigated the canker titled “Sperm Merchants” about how mostly prostitutes have made the sale of used condoms a part of their business.
The majority of these women, who live primarily in the Upper West, Ashanti, and Greater Accra regions, have established strong business relationships with cartels and ritualists, earning a significant amount of money from them in exchange for the used condoms.
It was revealed by one of the women who spoke with the TV3 journalist that the syndicate is so well-organized that their suppliers even employ hotel cleaners.
She stated, “I have hotels in Accra where the cleaners provide me with used condoms and I tip them because I earn a lot from the sale of used condoms.”
The fact that these women claimed that many of their customers were allegedly pastors was even more shocking.
Kiki, one of the women, talked about how many of these men of God get their supplies and stressed that she had just dropped off a consignment with one of these men before she went in for the interview.
I deal with the pastors’ errand boys rather than the pastors themselves. I won’t mention names, but pastors frequently request condoms. When I got here, I even delivered some stuff, and when I get back, I will get my money. I’ll take my money because I know the pastor’s house and he knows mine.
She stated, “I gave some to an evangelist in the Volta Region two weeks ago.”
While expressing that she could never permit something like this to be done to any man in her family, Kiki insisted that in any case, she would keep on offering the condoms to have the option to fight for her as well as her 10-year-old little girl.
She also said that she has strengthened her spirituality because she knows the trade she is in is dangerous.
As far as she might be concerned, as far as the pre-owned condoms would be paid for, she would constantly be prepared to supply them.
People come to me for used condoms that contain sperm whenever I go to Kumasi. She elaborated, “I sell them so long as they pay me. I don’t know what they use them for.”
A fetish priest in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region also discussed some of the negative effects of using condoms for rituals, noting that he has previously raised concerns about this practice.
