Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency)

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has responded to the outcome of his first court appearance with Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, alias Victor Kusi Boateng, Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees.

After Ablakwa was caught on camera kicking two court documents that were being served on him earlier this month, Adu Gyamfi filed a contempt lawsuit against him, claiming that the legislator had disrespected the courts.

After the first hearing, the court decided on February 21 that the legislator was not served with the summons and that service should have been done through the Speaker of Parliament, as required by law.

After that, the case was put on hold sine die.

Ablakwa appeared in court with members of his party, the National Democratic Congress, and a large number of his constituents, but he was escorted out of the room immediately after the sitting without speaking to the media.

He made the following social media post as his initial reaction to the outcome of Day 1 of the proceedings: Nobody wins when they fight the People and the Truth.

“I am deeply grateful to everyone for the incredible support and strong unity.” Ghana First.
