Today, as the world observes world radio day, Mr. Mahama Ayariga is urging the closure of all Bawku-based radio stations to promote peace.

He claims that radio stations have been used to stir up conflict, which has only served to exacerbate the situation.

One of the country’s oldest conflicts, the Bawku conflict claimed dozens of lives and damaged several properties.

The most recent incident of conflict in the region occurred yesterday, February 12, 2023, according to information available.

Since the conflict in the Bawku enclave of the Upper East Region poses a threat to the lives and development of the region, the majority of organizations, including some government institutions, have fled the area.

As a result, the Bawku central members of parliament, Mr. Mahama Ayariga, is calling for the radio stations to be shut down to put an end to the incitement.
