Adlia Lilian Owusu will celebrate Ghana’s 66th Independence Anniversary with an event at the Breast Mountain, as part of activities marking the launch of her Tour Ghana Project.
According to her management, the main idea behind the Tour Ghana Project is to promote domestic tourism in Ghana using mainstream media, social media and special events. Specifically, the project seeks to create awareness about existing tourist sites in Ghana and to encourage the populace to patronize them.
The three days event dubbed “Independence Party with Adlia on the Breast Mountain” is designed to provide adventure, entertainment and excitement to participants from Saturday the 4th through to Monday 6th March 2023 at the Kyabobo National Park, Nkwanta in the Oti Region.
The Miss UNi International 2022 1st Runner-Up said her decision to begin her Tour Ghana Project with a trip to the Breast Mountain with her fans is due to her commitment to help increase awareness about the Kyabobo National Park and the various tourist attraction sites associated.
Activities will include a Hiking Completion, Camping, Cultural, Drama, Music, and Dance performances as well as an Exhibition and sales of indigenous local drinks and food.
The hiking competition is open to Churches, Youth Clubs / Associations, Hairdressers & Beauticians Association, Ghana Tailors and Dressmakers Association, GPRTU, Schools and Companies.
Speaking with betterghanadigest.com in an interview, Adlia said promoting domestic tourism, particularly around this time is key to helping grow the local economy.
In her opinion, most people spend lots of money, traveling outside just to cool off during vacation. Most people normally, just would want to get away from home in order to have a change of environment. “If such people are encouraged to spend their vacations visiting or discovering the various tourist attraction sites in Ghana instead of traveling abroad, the money will stay in here.
Adlia went on to encourage members of the general public especially the youth, to see the Hiking Competition as a health and fitness activity that presents a lot more benefits and therefore urged them to come in their numbers in order to participate. “Apart from the health benefits, participants stand the chance to win very attractive prizes from sponsors.” She stressed.
Adlia took the opportunity to appeal for support by way of sponsorship from the media, corporate organizations, churches, and associations in order to make the event a success.
