The Breast Mountain is one the most fantastic and wonderful natural tourist attractions and monuments found in the Nkwanta South District of the Oti Region in Ghana today.
Though it is one of the less highlighted tourist sites in the country, the Breast Mountain is truly a wonderful place everyone would love to see. It is called the breast mountain because it appears like the human or female breast.
It is located in the Kyabobo National Park which also boasts of the Djebobo or Kyabobo mountains of which the Breast Mountain is considered one of them.
The Kyabobo National Park which was founded in 1993 after the campaigning of a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer, was named after Mount Dzebobo, the second-highest peak in Ghana, which was mispronounced and misspelled as Kyabobo when the park was created. The word “Djebobo” means “to travel around and around in order to arrive at the top” in the local language.
A hike atop the Breast Mountain covers a total distance of 7km in and out. It is a 3.5 km starting from the parking area (a schoolyard in Odome) to the lookout point on the “left breast” cleverly named “Nipple Rock” and back to the same point.
The Breast Mountain affords visitors the opportunity to view the spectacular and stunning plains, and sometimes the Volta basin during clear weather from this vantage peak. The scenes along the hike are wonderful and the forest is peaceful.

Also on the Park is a 3 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom Self-Catering Bungalows for rent to visitors at 70ghc per room for a night. Each of the Bungalows comes with a bathroom and a centralized kitchen fitted with a fridge and a stove for cooking.
