In a 2020 Pew Research Center survey, 65% of adults in the United States identified themselves as Christians. They were 75% in 2015 70.6% in 2014, 78% in 2012, 81.6% in 2001, and 85% in 1990.
Perhaps of greater importance is the fact that, the great United States of America, a “Christian” country, with all her superpower, sheer size, mighty strength of the dollar, unmatched wealth in brainpower, strength, and money, has not once in her 247 years of existence, spent even a penny of the American taxpayer’s money on a national cathedral, national prayer camp, or even a national prayer line.
There are about 220 or so cathedrals in America, a Christian country with approximately 330 million people, and not even a penny of public funds has been wasted on a single cathedral or religious edifice. Yet still, Americans continue to worship God daily. America, even without having spent a dime of public funds on cathedrals and church buildings, the country continues to be blessed beyond measure, continues to prosper immensely, and continues to take care of her poor and vulnerable people to the glory of God everyday! Brainpower, nyansa, effective leadership, all to the glory of God. I can think of no better way to glorify God than this.
And then there’s the Republic of Ghana. A highly indebted poor broke country, with a corrupt and crooked emperor and his men, who think the only way to glorify God, is to deceitfully and illegally embezzle money from the public purse without recourse to procurement laws, to redeem the personal pledge of one man to build a cathedral for his God.
Ghana’s poor and vulnerable continue to suffer devastating and cruel economic hardship under this failed and clueless emperor Nana Akufo-Addo, but at last check the price tag for Nana Akufo-Addo’s cathedral of lies was about $500,000,000 or approximately half a billion USD of public funds. JFC!
Heavenly Father, what sins did our forefathers commit for us to be punished so? God of Ghana, have mercy upon us. God of Ghana, hear our prayers now and forevermore. Amen
Medaase for Thanks!
