Renowned radio and TV personality, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), has made a comeback on Radio Gold, seven years after he left the station.
in 2015, KOD left Radio Gold to join EIB Network, owners of GHOne TV and Starr FM.
Five years later, he shockingly took a walk from the EIB Network.
He is back now and has gone back to where it all started – Radio Gold.
After hosting ‘Weekend Spectacular’, a one-time Ghana’s biggest Friday night show on Radio Gold, on Friday evening shared some photos and videos on his Facebook page with his fans. He also thanked the fans and listeners for spending time to listen in.
The Weekend Spectacular is a lifestyle radio show with music and great interviews. It runs every Friday from 7 pm to 11 pm.
KOD worked on Radio Gold for 18 years, before joining EIB Network. He remains one of Ghana’s respected media icons. Aside from presenting on radio, he runs his clothing line, NINETEEN57, and is also getting ready for the 10th edition of his annual ‘Rhythms on Da Runway’ fashion event.
“It was tough to get on the radio, not the station (Radio Gold). This is because I’m focusing on my own business, but I thought radio is good and worth it. They looked out for me and made me all that I am,” he told DGNonline when he was asked if it was a difficult decision to return to Radio Gold.
