World Press Freedom Day: Three MPs engage their constituents live on radio

All three Tongu MPs (North, South & Central) decided to observe this year’s World Press Freedom Day by jointly submitting themselves to a four-hour media engagement on Sela Radio, South Tongu.

The three were Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, member of parliament for North Tongu constituency, Honourable Wisdom Kobena Woyome, Member of Parliament for South Tongu constituency and the Member of Parliament for Central Tongu Constituency, Honourable Hottordze Alexander Roosevelt.

In commemoration of World Press Freedom Day, the three Members of Parliament spent four hours in the studios of Sela Radio, briefing listeners on current developmental issues in their various constituencies.

They also took turns to answer questions from listeners who called into the program to put their concerns across.

According to Hon. Ablakwa, It was a duty and great honour to account to our constituents adding that there can be no healthy democracy without a free and independent media.

Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has been the member of parliament since 2013, representing his constituents in the 6th, 7th and 8th parliaments of the fourth republic.

Honourable Woyome joined parliament in 2009, representing his constituents in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Parliaments of the fourth republic.

Member of Parliament for Central Tongu Constituency, Honourable Hottordze Alexander Roosevelt has served in the 7th and 8th parliament of the fourth republic
