Access Bank (Ghana) Plc has come to the aid of kids in three orphanages adopted by Citi FM/Citi TV by supporting the media platform’s annual Easter Orphan Project.

Access Bank donated 90 bags of rice, 90 gallons of oil and several cartons of milk towards the course.

As has become the tradition, staff of Citi FM/Citi TV spend time on Easter Monday every year with kids in three selected orphanages in Ghana, namely; Baptist School Complex (BASCO) at Trotor, near Suhum in the Eastern Region, HopeWay Ministries Children’s Home at Haatso in Accra and Mama Laadi Orphanage at Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.

They visit the orphanages in question, socialising with the kids and also donating food items, toiletries, confectionery as well as money to the managers of the inmates.

Speaking to Citi News after donating the items on Monday, April 11, 2022, Oluwaseun David Akindele, Ag. Head of Corporate Communications for Access Bank said the gesture formed part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility.

“As part of our corporate social responsibility, we try to support orphanages. This year, we were planning to visit some orphanages and I heard the Easter Orphan project advert on Citi FM and I discussed with my team for us to join hands with Citi FM/TV since it’s the same course. So we’ve given about 90 bags of rice, 90 gallons of oil and about 90 trays of milk to support the Easter Orphan project so that we can put smiles on the faces of the orphans,” he said.

The Coordinator for Corporate Social Responsibility at Citi FM/Citi TV, Kafui Kuwornu, was grateful to Access Bank for the donation.

She used the opportunity to urge other benevolent organisations and individuals to support the good course.
