Nuumo Cephas Borketey Borteye Okposa was born on the 20th of March 1948, to Mr. Daniel Okposa Borteye of Nii Djenge We and Madam Susuana Bortey of Nii Borkwei We all of blessed memory.
When he was about nine years old, his uncle Ataa Amai of blessed memory, who was a fisherman took him and started training him in the fishing business. This took them around the coast of Ada, Aflao, Benin, and Winneba. He later joined his other uncle Borley Tsefio also of blessed memory, in the fishing business.
When he was 18years, due to his hardworking nature, one of his uncles Pletu Bortier of blessed memory, who was a timber trader came to him for help in the timber trading which we call “sawyer”. He later joined Ataa Abotsi Borlebi and Kwabentse also of blessed memory in the sawyer business in the eastern region.
At the time, this sawyer business was no more lucrative so he came back to the fishing business this time at Osu. He actually met his first wife Amerley in Osu and they had their first son. Unfortunately, Amerley passed away. He then moved to Matsigani riverside and formed his own fishing company called Yoogboojra.
At Matsigani, he got married to Madam Mary Otoo of blessed memory and they were blessed with 3 more children. Nuumo Cephas Borkety Okposa was one of the warriors who fought Teshie in 1992.
