The deputy national TEIN coordinator for the opposition NDC Mr. Ekow Djan has referred to Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s assertion of the economy on Saturday 7th August 2021 as frivolous
On Saturday, 7th August, 2021met with TESCON members and executives of the New Patriotic Party at the University of Cape Coast in Central Region.
In his address, Dr. Bawumia passed some untruth comments about how Ghana’s economy is faring.
The assertion by the Vice President that the NDC took Ghana to HIPC is false. Even a day-old baby knows it was under President Kuffour that Ghana was rolled under a HIPC program.
Again, for the Vice President to say Ghana’s economy is being managed well is an insult to the intelligence of Ghanaians. We do not need a soothsayer to tell Ghanaians the harsh economic situation they are subjected to by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration.
Regrettably, Dr. Bawumia passed these comments before TESCON— the intellectual wing of the NPP. It is obvious the man doesn’t respect their intelligence. Shockingly, these TESCON members made a clap offering for the Vice President after they were intellectually abused by the self-acclaimed economic “guru.” This clearly tells you how weak their intellectual base is.
Dr. Bawumia clearly deceived the vulnerable TESCON members with difficult to explain high debt-low inflation theory! No respect for the intellect of his audience.
For a man who, while in opposition accused the then government of borrowing should be heavily ashamed of admitting that our debt stock is higher under his watch as the Head of the Economic Management Team.
Our current GDP ratio of 76.6% has indeed proven that the economy has been poorly managed by Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.
Ghanaians must surely punish them in 2024 for their poor management of the economy.
