Lack of vital social amenities in Dahomako, a rural area in the Assin South district has riled the chief and natives to question the authorities if Dahomako is even part of Assin South and Ghana.

In an interview with Nap Radio reporter Daasebre Kofi Banafo, Sanaahene of Dahomako, Nana Osei Kojo Brempong spat angrily concerning the slow pace of development in the area.

“A lot of areas have received developmental projects but in Dahomako’s case, the water facility that was built for us spoilt less than three months after its invention. We have informed the right authorities to fix it but till date, it remains a white elephant. I’m tempted to ask; Is it that we are not part of the district or this is a punishment for a wrong we have done.”

He continued to outline other key challenges in the town which includes a community center and a modern toilet facility.

According to the residents of Dahomako, they have no any other choice than to be defecating anywhere and anyhow since there is no toilet facility. They added that lack of network and portable water in the area are challenges which need to be attended to immediately since the unavailability of these amenities mentioned pose grave danger to the society.

“Ladies defecate along roadside exposing our nakedness to the public and bath once a day because we have no portable water they lamented”
