Farmers at Offinso north district in the Ashanti region are crying bitterly over the destruction of their farmlands by illegal chainsaw operators.
The affected farmers who have since been appealing to the Government through DCE and other authorities to come to intervene have threatened to take the law into their own hands if the situation should continue .
Responding the issue, the District Forestry Director, Mr. Kwabena Biden revealed that they have planted over one hundred and twenty seven thousand trees in the district. He has therefore declared war against illegal chainsaw operators who are destroying farms and property.
He charged the citizenry to plant more trees, cleaning the environment and also to help fight against illegal chainsaw activities and other activities that are destructive to our water bodies and forest reserves.
