VETTING OF DEPUTY MINISTERIAL NOMINEES KICKS OFF TODAY

The vetting of dupity ministerial nominees of his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo by the Appointments Committee of Parliament starts today, Wednesday 2nd June 2021.
The 14days exercise which is expected to end on Tuesday, 15th June, 2021 will start at 10:00 am each day, according to a published schedule which is circulating on social media and chanced by betterghanadigest.com.
Some of the nominees as contained in the document circulating include; Charles Adu Boahen Deputy Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance designate, Mohammed Amin Adam Deputy Minister designate in charge of Petroleum at the energy ministry, Osei Bonsu Amoah at the Local Government, Decentralization & Rural Development and Hon Benito Owusu Bio, Deputy Minister designate for lands and natural resources etc.
The nominees are expected to convince the vetting committee on their readiness to serve the nation and to work diligently at their various offices to increase productivity.

President Akufo-Addo submitted the list of nominees to the Speaker of Parliament Hon Alban Sumani Kingsford Bagbin on April 21, 2021 out of which ten are women.
The list also includes first-time Members of Parliament like Hassan Tampuli and John Ampontuah Kumah.

Abena Osei-Asare at the Finance Ministry, Mohammed Amin Adam, William Owuraku Aidoo at the Energy Ministry, Osei Bonsu Amoah at the Local Government, Decentralisation & Rural Development and Tina Mensah at the Health Ministry, among others are some of the Ministers also maintained their positions from President Akufo-Addos first term.

Former deputy Minister of Finance, Charles Adu-Boahen, was also nominated as the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance.
