
Contestants of Miss UNi International will be visiting Akim Oda to see the Big Tree this weekend.
The Big Tree as it is famously known is located at Akim Ada, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Measuring about 12 meters in circumference and 90 meters tall, the Big Tree is believed to be between 350 and 400 years old.

Since it’s discovery, the Big Tree has attracted many tourists accross the world to visit the forest.
Miss UNi International an inter University beauty pageant that is designed to expose the various tourist sites in Ghana to the public in order to encourage people to patronize them.
Speaking to betterghanadigest.com, Executive Director of Media Billo, producers of the show, Oheneba Akosua Kyerewaa said the project seeks to promote tourism in Ghana.
The ten contestants, drawn from the ten universities including University of Ghana, Legon, University of Cape Coast, UCEW, Central University College just to mention a few, were publicly outdoored last Friday during the launching of the event at the Capitol Restaurant.
The show which is designed to run for a period of thirteen weeks will see the contestants touring thirteen tourist destinations accross Ghana.
After each tour, the contestants will have a Chit-Chat with a celebrity to discuss their observations about the trip and also what they think can be done to contribute to the promotion of those tourist destinations; so that Ghanaians in general would appreciate our tourism industry and eventually attract more tourists into the country in order to boost our economy.
At the end of the thirteen weeks, the winner is going to be rewarded with an official car, a trip to Dubai as well as other mouth watering prizes from sponsors.
