The management of Covenant Institute of Professional Studies (CIPS), a private institution accredited by City and Guilds UK, has announced for the information of the general public that it has moved to its new campus in Accra
The school which was formerly situated at Tarkwa in the Western Region has been relocated to Teshie, Accra and is expected to begin full operations on Monday, the 27th January 2020.
Speaking to betterghanadigest.com in an interview, Mr. Christopher Okoe MacCarthy, the Director of Covenant Institute of Professional Studies (CIPS) said the decision to move to Accra was influenced by the fact that most of the students who had enrolled in the school were from Accra and because of that they had to pay so much on private hostels since the school did not have such facilities available.
Mr. Christopher Okoe MacCarthy observed that there are so many people who are already working as Electricians, Auto Mechanics (Fitters), Site Foremen, etc. but are without professional certificates because they acquired their training through practical apprenticeship and as a result they are not able pursue higher positions even when they get the opportunity to work in any company.
The idea therefore, is to give these group of people the opportunity to acquire professional certification in their various fields of work to enable them undertake other professional courses or programs in a bid to upgrade their qualification as well as expertise.
Since majority of these workers are resident in Accra, we thought it wise to bring our services closer to them and that will allow many more of them to take advantage of the opportunity to acquire professional certificates without the need to ask for study leave.
Covenant Institute of Professional Studies offers courses in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Motor Vehicle Engineering, Civil Engineering and Health and Safety.
