The Outspoken Deputy National Organizer of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Hamilton Biney Nixon has labelled the New Patriotic Party(NPP) government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as an impotent one, that cannot do anything meaningful.
“The government of Akufo-Addo is impotent in the PDS matter and we should not expect anything dramatic to happen”, he revealed during a radio discussion.
His comment came at the back of the termination of the controversial Power Distribution Services (PDS) agreement, following the pressure from the opposition NDC and other stakeholders in the country.
The government signed an agreement to allow the Power Distribution Services (PDS) to take over the management of power distribution from the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited (ECG).
Instead of government cross checking the company’s guarantees, before handing over Ghana’s GH¢22 billion worth of assets to them, they opted to hand it over and cross-check that later.
The Minister of Energy, John Peter Amewu had earlier explained, that government had to take the necessary action to be able to meet a deadline.
