The Western Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Ndede Siah has descended heavily on the Chiefs of Nzemaland for attacking Freddie Blay, the National Chairman of the party describing them as a bunch of selfish persons.
peaking on Empire FM, a Takoradi-based radio station, the President of Nzemamanle Traditional Council and a Paramount Chief of Bamianko, Awulae Angamatu Agyan II, attacked Freddie Blay who hails from the area for not fighting for the area and Western Region at large.
According to him, Freddie Blay has been refusing to meet them to discuss development projects of the area despite being part of the cabinet of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He claimed “Freddie Blay has neglected his own people in terms of development”.
But, responding to the Paramount Chief’s attacks, the Western Regional Chairman of the party, Ndede Siah disagreed with him indicating that Chiefs of Nzema ought to blame themselves.
He explained that if the chiefs learn from the likes of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, Western Region will see a lot of development.
The Regional Chairman, therefore described the Chiefs as greedy since they were only interested in seeking for their selfish interest instead of the masses who are their subjects.
He explained that the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II goes to the Presidency to ask for the interest of Asanteman but those from the Western Region do otherwise.
He chastised them for being selfish “When the President goes to Kumasi, he sleeps in the house of Otumfuo, this affords him the opportunity to go there and fight for the interest of Asanteman, Amotia Ofori Panyin goes to the President and fight for the interest of Akyem. But what do we see when it comes to Western Region, who does that? And do they go and speak for themselves or the region…I think they go to speak for themselves…”
He advised that the Chiefs and their subjects must come together and fight for their own.
