National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Wa West Constituency in the Upper West Region, Superintendent (retired) Peter Lanchene Tuubo has revealed that he was already a card bearing member of the party.
According to the former Executive Secretary to the immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu he joined the NDC in 1992 under the tenure of now former President Jerry John Rawlings who ushered in the Fourth Republic,

Speaking on Accra-based Citi Fm Point Blank, he said “You know before 1992 before I joined the police, I was an NDC member but when the police is recruiting, they don’t ask you for party card, we ask you whether you qualify according to criteria, they don’t care which party once belongs to. You are allowed as a policeman to do anything you want to do and not become partisan police officer”
